Earl Joseph Blommer

Earl Joseph Blommer, age 89, died Saturday, June 9, at Forest View Rehabilitationeenter in Durham. He was born in St. Cloud MN oneecember 13, 1917 to the late John M. and Barbara Pfanneneein Blommer. Earl was a World War II veteran who spent his career working as a microbiologist for the federal government. He moved to Durham in 1971 where he and his family joined Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Earl was always an avid reader and upon his retirement traveled extensively around the U.S. with his wife, Kate, and his son, Dylan. When not traveling he could usually be found at the Duke East Campus tennis courts or swimming at the YMCA with Dylan. He is survived by his wife of 51years, Catherine C.
