Edgar F. Berry

Edgar F. "Ed" Berry, 77, of Fearrington Village in Pittsboro, North Carolina, died December 19, 2009 at UNC Hospital. Mr. Berry was born March 15, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Edgar F. Berry aneelizabeth Fage Berry. He graduated from Bloomsburg State Teachers' College now Bloomsburg Uneersity in 1954 and served in the US Army from 1954 1956 during the Korean conflict. Following his service he was employed by IBM for 32 years in accounting and finance. A lifelong Lutheran, he served in various capacities including Treasurer and President of the Church Council. At the time of his death, he was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chapel Hill, NC. Mr. Berry was also a member of the Pittsboro Kiwanis Club and he voluneered for Habitat for Humanity. Survivors include his wife, Conee Berry; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sandi Berry of St. Petersburg, FL, Stephen and Melinda Berry of Annapolis, MD, John and Darla Berry of Helena, MT; five grandchildren; and a sister, Jean B. Miller of Brevard. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chapel Hill.
