Edith Oakley Faucette

OXFORD: Edith Oakley Faucette, age 84, died Monday, July 15, 2013. A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Cordie Oakley and Tishie Kearney Oakley and the widow of the late Irvin Faucette. Edith was a member of West Oxford Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and kept the nursery. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM at West Oxford Baptist Church by Reverends Wes Garner and Wayne Clark. Burial will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends oneednesday, July 17, 2013 at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:30 PM and at other times they will be at 3710 Chewning Road, Oxford, NC. Surviving are her children, Karen F. Keeton, Kay F. Hobgood Sammy, David Faucette Gayle Claudette F. Dickerson and Haywood Faucette all of Oxford. She is also survived by a brother, Wiley Oakley Catherine of Durham and a sister, Pauline Capps of Oxford; grandchildren, Sandy Reese, Lynneeeton, Sam Hobgood, Josh Faucette, Doug Dickerson and Betsy Dickerson; great grandchildren, Alexis and Avery Reese and Michael and Maggie Bass. She was preceded ineeath by a daughter, Vivian F. Cox. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be given to West Oxford Baptist Church, PO Box 458, Oxford, NC 27565.
