Edwin Ray Snuggs, Jr.

Mr. Edwin Ray Snuggs, Jr., 85, died oneeptember 27, 2015.?? He was born in Albemarle, NC, oneecember 4, 1929 to the late Edwin Ray Snuggs, Sr. and Bonee Lee Barnes.?? He graduated from Albemarle City Schools and received his undergraduate and professional training at Weber College, Ogden, Utah, the US Army Engineering School at Fort Belvoir, VA and DeVry Uneersity in Chicago.?? He proudly served his country for 4 years in the Uneed States Air Force and was honorably discharged.?? Mr. Snuggs' career with Picker International and Trianee X-Ray Company??spanned 40 years working as an X-Ray Service and Sales Engineer.?? He was a proud member of the North Carolina Society of Radiologic Technologists and was honeed in 1984 as the Reeves-Rousseau Lecturer. Mr. Snuggs is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ethel Nelson Snuggs, his daughter , Terri Snuggs Northup, his son, Ronald E. Snuggs, his granddaughter, Lauren Northup and husband, Scott Riddell, his great grandchildren, John Robert Riddell and Louisa Riddell, his brothers, Leon Snuggs and William Thomas Snuggs and several nieces and nephews.?? He was preceded ineeath by his parents, his brother, Eugene Snuggs and his sister, Peggy Snuggs Furr. Until his recent illness, Mr. Snuggs was an active member of Trinity Uneed Methodist Church, the Methodist Men, Sunday School Superintendent and on various administrative boards of the church.?? He was a past member of the Durham Rotary Club. Funeral services for Mr. Snuggs will be held oneednesday, September 30, 2015 at 12 Noon at Trinity Uneed Methodist Church, 215 N. Church Street, Durham NC.?? After the service, the family will receive friends in the Church Parlor.?? Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.?? Flowers are acceptable, however, if you wish, memorials may be made to Trinity Uneed Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
