Effie Jonas Speagle

Effie Jonas Speagle, age 83, died Thursday evening, September 11, 2008, at Duke Medical Center. She was born in Wake County oneeptember 25, 1924 and was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church. Effie worked as a legal secretary for more than 55 years for several legal firms as well as certaineepartments within the federal/city government. She is survived by a few special friends: Janee Tice; Harold Blalock; Janie Carmack; and Tony and Mary Garrett; as well as several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, September 15, 2008, at Woodlawneemorial Park with the Rev. Forest M. Gale, Jr. presiding.
