Eileen Mary Veladota, age 72, died Monday February 11, at Kineed Healthcare oneettigrew St. in Durham. Eileen was born in Bronx, NY to the late Jeremiah Kinsella Durick aneelizabeth McLaughlin Durick. Eileen taught first grade for thirty-four years at Mater Christi School in Burlington, VT. She moved to Durham, NC and taught kindergarteners at Immaculata Catholic School for five years. She devoted herself to huneeds of students that she loved as her own children. She nurtured them and instilled in all a love of learning. Her deep, quiet and unshakeable faith in the Catholic Church is just one of the many things that made her so special. Eileen is survived by her three loving daughters, Katherine Veladota Agusta and husband, Joe, of Chapel Hill, NC; Nicki Veladota and husband, Tom Kressly, of Durham, NC; and Christina Veladota of Athens, OH; her brother, Jeremiah Durick and his wife Donna of South Burlington, VT; her sister, Elizabeth Kinney and her husband Steve of Randolph, VT; her former spouse and close friend Larry Veladota, and five grandchildren and neerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Eileen was predeceased by her brother Daniel. The family would like to offer sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Kineed Healthcare and Heartland Hospice for the outstanding care and loving support they gave to Eileen. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 from Holy Infant Catholic Church with Father David J. Devlin, OSFS, presiding. Friends may visit one hour prior to mass from 10:00-11:00 in the church and after the mass in the fellowship hall. Burial will be held at a later date in Fairhaven, VT.
