Elinor Ciftan

Elinor Ciftan, age 81, died at Duke Uneersity Hospital on January 18, 2019 after a tragic fall. ??She was born oneecember 26, 1937. Elinor grew up in the small town of Windham, New Hampshire where she was surrounded by nature's beauty. There she learned to love fishing and gardening with flowers and vegetables. Elinor graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1955, followed by Colby Junior College. She met her Armenian husband to be in Boston who came from Istanbul, Turkey to earneegrees in Physics. She was a self-taught computer programmer at Duke Uneersity and Research Trianee Institute.?? Elinor and her husband found joy in many things, especially cooking for their family. Her family and friends will always remember?? her selfless, warm, kind spirit, great sense of humor, and the joy she shared freely. Elinor is survived by her husband of 61 years, Mikael, daughter Suzanne Hens, son-in-law Marc Hens, grandson Camroneens, as well as her brother Robert Klein, sister-in-law Yolande Klein, nieces Ani Kindall, Arlene Kraus, Johanna Klein, and nephew Dana Kleineelinor was preceded ineeath by her mother Ethel and father Robert Klein.
