Elisabeth Ford Siebert quietly passed on March 23, 2012 to be with the Lord. Elisabeth Betty was born on April 5, 1923 in Akron, Ohio. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Robert Francis Ford and Rose Shanley. Betty was also predeceased by her first husband Werner Scheidegger. Betty is survived by her second husband, Edward G. Siebert; three step-children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Betty aneedward had wonderful years together; they enjoyed traveling to interesting destinations. They were devoted to each other and lived life to the fullest. Following graduation from Purdue Uneersity in 1943, Betty started a wide ranging career in the business world working for Citi-Bank in their Income Tax Division. Subsequent to Betty's marriage to Werner Scheidegger, Betty became his business partner. Betty maneed the internal affairs of the company while Werner concentrated on sales and service around the world. The prime product of their export business was Scotsmaneeating and cooling towers for foreign companies. They had installations in India, Japan, Africa, Saudi Arabia, and throughout Europe. Betty loved animals and had a lifelong interest in animal shelters. Betty had a passion for Saint John Knits and other fashionable outfits. She always looked the part of a successful business woman. Betty was a member of the Purdue Alumni Association President's Club. She also was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority at Purdue and has maintained a strong loyalty to Delta Gamma throughout her lifetime. Those who knew Betty well sometimes called her "Peaches". While in the dormitory as Purdue Betty acquired this nicknee. The nee was used as they had too many "Bettys" and since Betty grew up ineeorgia, "Peaches" seemed like a great fit. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 27th, ineew Chapel at Croasdaile Village, Durham, NC. A post service reception will follow.
