Elizabeth "Betty" Jordan

DURHAM ??? Elizabeth (Betty) Ochsner Jordan, 79, of Durham passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Duke Uneersity Hospital. Betty was born in Chicago, IL oneecember 7, 1937 to the late Roland Ochsner and Alice Todd Ochsner. In 1957, Betty married to James N. Jordan Jr in Chicago. They had five children over the next six years and lived in the St. Matthias parish on the north side of the city. Betty moved to Durham in 2004 wheneer son Jay and his family were relocated to the area. She quickly fell in love with North Carolina and created a new life for herself as voluneer at both Sarah P. Duke Gardens and the NC Master Gardener Extension Program. Her hobbies at home included gardening, bird watching, puzzles of any kind, playing cards and dominos with family and neighbors, and she took quickly to the digital age keeping in touch with family and friends across the country on Facebook. Betty is survived by her daughter, Donna Jordan; her sons, Michael Jordan, Norman Jordan, James (Jay) Jordan, and Kevin Jordan; her grandchildren, Michael Jordan, Jr., Scott Jordan, Christina Jordan, Kevin Schuh, Aneew Jordan, Dana Jordan, and James Dylan Jordan, and by her great grandson, James Dylan Jordan Jr. A memorial Mass will be held 11:00AM Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Holy Infant Catholic Church with Fr.
