Elizabeth Frances Allen

Elizabeth Frances Allen, 95, of Youngsville died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Wake Medical Center. A native of Franklin County, Miss Allen was the daughter of the late Hardie W. and Maude Dickens Allen. In addition to her membership at Franklinton Baptist Church, Miss Allen also sang in the choir at Oak Level Church. She worked at Boles Department Store in Wake Forest and then at Leggett's Department Store in Franklinton. For thirty years she served as secretary of the Franklinton Garden club. In addition to gardening, Miss Allen enjoyed canning and cooking and spending couneess hours with her beloved dogs and cats. Surviving are her devoted caregiver, Sarah Teasley; and her brother-in-law, Dr. C. Ray Pruette. She was preceded ineeath by her sister, Margaret Pruette and her brother, Robert Allen. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday from the Chapel of Franklin Funeral Service, 504 E. Mason St. in Franklinton with the Rev. David Haley officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home.
