Elizabeth Saling Halboth passed away in the faith on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Durham, NC. She was born at Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, oneecember 29, 1923, the sixth child of John J. and Lillian Barclay Saling, both long deceased. Prior to relocating to Durham in 1999, she had resided at Upper Darby, PA, Norfolk, VA, Drexel Hill, PA, Newark, NJ, Jacksonville, FL, Honolulu, HI and Rumson, NJ, in the course of a long and varied life. Mrs. Halboth was a graduate of Upper Darby High School, from which she went on to employment with the Provident Mutual Insurance Company of Philadelphia, where she rose to the position of Assistant Convention Maneer, and traveled extensively throughout the Uneed States in connection with her duties. Subsequent to her marriage, she accompanied her husband to sundry locations about the country, and became occupied with the duties of motherhood and home maneement in the turmoil of a frequently changineenvironment. After settlement at Rumson, NJ, she assisted her husband in the formation of Henry C. Halboth & Co., Inc. and for thirty years acted as Chief Financial Officer of that Corporation; she also later reactivated her business talents and sought employment in the banking industry from which she ultimately retired as Secretary to the President, at Shrewsbury State Bank, Shrewsbury, NJ. Mrs. Halboth was long active in church affairs. Originally a member, active youth activities participant, and choir singer at the Drexel Hill Baptist Church, where she married, she became a choir member and Past President of the Presbyterian Women, at the First Presbyterian Church of Rumson, NJ, and a Past Treasurer of the Presbyterian Women, at First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank, NJ. ??At Durham, she was a member of the Trinity Avenue Presbyterian Church, and continued active in church and circle matters. Mrs. Halboth is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Henry C. Halboth; she is also survived by a son, Charles Halboth and wife, Sharon of Yardley, PA; a daughter Suzanne Graham and husband, John of Chapel Hill; five grandchildren, Allison (Christopher) DeLaurentis of Philadelphia, PA, Sandra Halboth of Yardley, PA, Matthew Graham of Washington, DC, Laura Graham of Herndon, VA and Rebecca Graham of Chapel Hill. Memorial Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 ineew Chapel at Croasdaile Village in Durham. Burial ??in Maplewood Cemetery.
