Elizabeth Woody Clegg, 88, formerly of Pittsboro, died May 16, 2010 at her son's home in High Point. Born in Moore County on March 11, 1922, Mrs. Clegg was the daughter of Thomas C. Woody aneeva Lillianeeynolds Woody. Mrs. Clegg was a homemaker; but worked in the banking business early ineer career and also did payroll for her husband, Horace B. Clegg, who operated a flower business. She was a member of Chatham Uneed Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons, Tommy Clegg of Pittsboro and HB Clegg of High Point; granddaughters, Traci Williams, Ashley Belcher and Kelli Duncan; great-grandchildreneemma Summer Belcher, Clayton Thomas Johnson and Logan Scott Duncan; and nieces Debbie Markley, Linda Markley, and Susan Champion, her husband Tony, and their children Ashley Evans and TJ Champion. Mrs. Clegg was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and her sister Dorothy Jean Markley. The service to celebrate Mrs. Clegg's life will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Chatham Uneed Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Edwards and Rev. Patrick Sinclair presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 7 9 pm Tuesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, Griffin Chapel, in Pittsboro.
