Era Mae Jo Campbell Link died Tuesday at Hospice of the Meadowlands following a brief illness. She was born March 27, 1928, in Sanford. Mrs. Link was a graduate of Watts School of Nursing and had a 10 year nursing career at Watts Hospital until the birth of her children. She was an active member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and a member of the friendship Sunday school class. Jo Link was a compassionee caregiver on many levels and known to be practical ineer approach to life. She was always a reliable source of support and wisdom to her family and friends. Surviving are her children, David Link and wife, Marianne, of Durham and Beth McConnell and husband, Tandy, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Hannah LaRae Link, Matthew David Link and Claire Marie McConnell; and a brother, Charles Campbell and wife, Ruth, of Long Island, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband, Boyce Link, in October, 2006. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church on NC Hwy #10 with the Rev. Andy Byer officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard. The friendship Sunday school class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
