Ernestine Taylor Pruitt

OXFORD: Ernestine Taylor Pruitt, 89 died January 25, 2014 at Granville Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1924 to Vernon Williams Taylor and Banna Wheeler Taylor. Ernestine was preceded ineeath by her husband Milton Pruitt. Ernestine was retired from J. F. Web High School, a member of Oxford Baptist Church, Elsie Bragg Sunday School Class and the WOM of the Oxford Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Oxford Woman's Club. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday January 28, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Oxford Baptist Church by the Rev. Christopher Aho and Dr. Steve Bolton. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Surviving are three daughters, Beth AdcockWilliam, Anne Whitehead and Martha ThompsonJohnny all of Oxford; son, George PruittLaurie of Oxford and close friend Jim Cash; grandchildren, Todd AdcockTerry, Cindy LockwoodChuck, Kelly W. WoodliefTony, Jamie Whitehead, Trey WhiteheadHeather Jonathan Thompson, Mary T. SmithTerry, Emily Pruitt, Allen Pruitt and Aneew Pruitt; great grandchildren, Tyler Adcock, Ryan Adcock, Grace Lockwood, William Lockwood, Kadence Woodlief, Hailey Woodlief, Zack Woodlief and Bryson Smith. Several nieces and nephews and the family would like to thank the care givers, Stephanie Timberlake and Barbara Baker. She was preceded ineeath by a brother, Vernon Taylor, Jr., sisters Buliz and Anee Mae Taylor. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:00 prior to the services in the family center of Oxford Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
