Finee Edgar White, Jr.

OXFORD: Finee Edgar White, Jr. age 89, died August 8, 2011 at Granville Medical Center. A native of Lenoir County, son of the late Finee Edgar White, Sr. and Lela Simmons White. A veteran of WWII serving in the US Army ineermany, France, and Japan. A graduate of NC State Uneersity and received his Masters from VPI in Blacksburg, VA while teaching as a professor there. A member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church serving as Sunday School superintendent/teacher, deacon, church clerk, and a retired farmer. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday August 10, 2011 at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Chapel by Dr. Lavelle Waters and Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving are his wife Ann Johnson White; brother, James Maurice White of Kinston and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by first his wife Viola Jones White; sister, Elizabeth White Rouse; and brother, Joel Braxton White. Flowers are accepted and memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 AM at the funeral home and other times at the home of Matt and Mary Catherine Adcock, 4617 Culbreth Rd. Oxford.
