Flora Beatrice Browning

Flora B. Browning, 88, of Durham, died Sunday, neember 3, 2013. Flora was born in Orange County oneebruary 9, 1925 to George and Rosa Walls. She was the youngest of five children. Flora was educated at Mangum High School. After graduation, she moved from Rougemont to Durham to attend Beauty College and was a beautician for over 65 years. She was the owner of Flora's Beauty Shop and was a longtime member of Bethany Uneed Methodist Church where she was active in the Ladies Circle Club. Flora was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, Wesley Browning. Flora is survived by: two sons, George Browning and wife, Marcia of Durham, and Donald Browning of Hurdle Mills; a grandson, William Browning and wife, Jenneer; the love of her life, her great-granddaughter, Jorja Lynn Browning; her loving caregiver, Rachel Vargo. Her many friends will remember Flora's smiling face and all the generosity she showed to everyone. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St., Durham. Graveside services will immediately follow ineection 9 of Maplewood Cemetery in Durham. Pastor Jimmy Weaver will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethany Uneed Methodist Church.
