Frances M. Woody

WOODY Frances M. Woody, 85 died on Thursday, May 14, 2009. Frances was born in Greensboro, NC to the late Jessie and Clarence Miles on January 6, 1924. She enjoyed family, growing flowers and her Lord most of all. Her husband and family were her world, but she opened her arms and heart to everyone. The XYZ club and the Eva Street Gang were special to her. She greatly enjoyed the fellowship that both brought to her. Frances is survived by her sons Allen A Woody, Jr. and his wife Beth of Durham and Charles H. Woody and his wife Linda of Durham; daughters Nancy W. Brown and her husband Dorian of Charlottesville, VA and Paneea W. Crabtree and her husband Tim of Durham; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Norman Richard Miles of Durham. Frances is predeceased by her husband and soul mate Allen A. Woody, Sr. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made in Frances's nee to Carr Uneed Methodist Church, P.O. Box 2954, Durham, NC 27715. Please include "Frances Woody Memorial" on the memo line of your check. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 18, 2009 from the Hall-Wynne Funeral Service Chapel, 1113 West Main St. Durham. The Rev. Ed Bogie will preside. Interment will follow at Maplewood City Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home.
