OXFORD: (Mary) Frances Ragland Jones was born in Oxford, North Carolina on March 25, 1929. On November 11, 2014 at home with her husband of 64 years and family members, she went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and departed family members. She graduated from Oxford High School and attended Woman's College of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She wed Charles F. Jones, Jr on July 23, 1950 at Hester Baptist Church, and together established Jones Drug Store in 1955 in Oxford, where they worked as partners for over 55 years. She was a life-long member of Hester Baptist Church; long time volunteer and organizer at the Red Cross where she was a 5 gallon club member; a regular, engaged participant at the Granville County Senior Center; and a wonderful mom and grandmother affectionately called "Majo. At home and in the community, she had a sunny disposition and great sense of humor. She is preceded in death by her parents Dulcie Harris Ragland Badgett and Granville Gray Ragland and brother Gilbert Gray. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Flournoy; 5 children: Sanne Dail (David) Magnan with children Grace Magnan Burmester (Nathan) and Hannah Mariah Magnan; Randall Gray; Kennon Dean (Angela) with daughter Kensey Danielle; Wesley Charles (Brenda) with Haley Jewell, Kelton Wesley and Lucas Kinton; and Granville Ragland (Teresa) with children Natalie Frances, Nolan Granville, Brendan Kolbe and Marisa Anne. Service will be held at Hester Baptist Church, Oxford, NC on November 14, 2014 at 11 am with Rev. Alex Gallimore. Visitation at Gentry-Newell - Vaughan Funeral Home in Oxford from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on November 13, 2014. A private burial will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Central North Carolina Chapter of the Red Cross (PO Box 52509, Durham NC 27717), Hester Baptist Church (6581 NC Highway 96, Oxford NC 27565) and/or Granville County Senior Center (119 Hilltop Village, Oxford NC 27565).
