Mrs. Frances Terrell Gibson, 84, died Wednesday morning at Croasdaile Village Retirement Community in Durham, NC. She was preceded ineeath by her husband of 55 years Preston E. Gibson Jr. Mary Frances was born in Atlanta, Ga. to the late Frank Matthews Terrell and Lottie McNair Terrell. After high school graduation she attended the Uneersity of Georgia. She married Preston E. Gibson Jr. in 1952 and they had three sons, Preston, Frank, and Joseph. While raising her family she lived in Atlanta, Ga., Richmond Va., and Charlotte N.C. After her husband???s retirement they moved to North Fort Myers, Fl. where they enjoyed 20 years together. They were members of Covenant Presbyterian Church where they were active and had many good friends. In 2006 Frances and Preston moved to Croasdaile Village Retirement Community in Durham, N.C. to be closer to her family. While there she was active in many groups and committees. One of her favorite pastimes was playing bridge in which she was a Bridge Master. She was chair of the Religious Life Committee, Secretary of her neighborhood block, and helped voluneer wherever she was needed. After her husband???s death she met her special friend and companion R. Grady Dawson and they shared seven wonderful years together. Frances is survived by sons Preston E. Gibson III and wife Patty, their children Laureneeric), Nicholas, Molly (Aaron) and Anna, and great grandson Emmett of Denver, Co.; Frank and wife Brenda and their children Emily and Nina of Durham, N.C., and Joseph and his wife Jimi and their children Scott (Christine), Amanda, Laura, and great grandchildreneenjamin of Raleigh, N.C., and Jarrett and Sarah of Charlotte, N.C. Family will receive friends Saturday August 6 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Hall Wynne Funeral Home 1113 W. Main St. Durham, N. C. 27701. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastors Denee Waters and Milton Hadley Sunday August 7 at 2 PM at Few Chapel in Croasdaile Village Retirement Community with a brief visitation prior to the service.
