Frank Hays Callis, Jr

Frank Hays Callis, Jr, 73 years old, of Oxford, NC died on March 5, 2019. He was the son of the late Frank Hays Callis and Ettie Bett Preddy Callis from Granville County.

Frank believed in hard work and family. He worked for Certainteed for 35 years and raised tobacco in Granville County. He was well known as "Heavy Duty and was a simple man who lived a good life.

Frank is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Callis; his son, Frank H. Callis, III; his brother, Roy Wayne Callis (Reca); his sister, Henrietta Loyd and his grandchildren, Christopher Brogden (Meghan), Jackson Callis, and Madden Callis; and his longtime, loving companion dog, Lucky. He will be greatly missed by many loving family and friends.

Frank was predeceased by his parents; his daughter, Rebecca Louise Tillotson; and his brother, Marion Reid Callis.

Visitation for Frank H. Callis, Jr, will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at Gentry-Newell - Vaughan with a memorial service to follow in the Chapel at Gentry-Newell and Vaughan.

Flowers are welcomed and accepted, or you may make a memorial in his name to the charity of your choice.
