Stovall: Gene Taylor Stovall, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home oneednesday, February 18, 2015. A native of Granville County, he is the son of Ruby Guthrie Stovall and the late Willard Holmes Stovall and was a member of Stovall Baptist Church. Gene graduated from Stovall High School and Fuller???s Business School. He worked for Burlington Industries in Clarksville, Virginia in the Informationeechnology Department for thirty six-years. He was also a tobacco farmer with his father for several years. He also proudly served his country and was in the Army Reserves for six years. He loved to quail hunt, fish and was a friend to all that knew him. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Harris Stovall; daughter, Barbara Jean Rankin and husband Keaton of Oxford; son, Brandon Evans Stovall and wife Betsy of Oxford; a brother, David M. Stovall and wife Carolyn of Stovall; an unee, John C. Guthrie of Stovall and aunt, Ruth S. Hester of Raleigh; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Stovall and one step-granddaughter, Macy R. Blackwell and husband Ryan of Apex and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 7:00-8:30 pm at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Gene???s friends and family members for their support and many daily visits that he cherished.
