George Ivey Day

Mr. George Ivey Day, age 66 of Oxford, died Monday, March 11, 2013 at Brantwood Nursing Center. A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late George Robert Day and Janie Bowling Day. George Ivey was a member of Salem Uneed Methodist Church, a retired veteran of the U.S. Army, the National Guard and DBW Construction Co. A memorial service will be held oneednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Chapel by Dr. Randy Bridges. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening March 12, 2013 from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Surviving is his wife, Patricia Adcock Day; a sister, Sandra Day Peed of Raleigh; nieces Kristeneeed Ludwig of Mentor, Ohio and Dr. Ivy Peed Pointer of Chapel Hill.
