Durham ??? Mrs. Goldie Lewis Lougee Peeler, 104, died Sunday afternoon at Brookdale of Chapel Hill. Mrs. Peeler was born in Nash County on October 22, 1912.?? She relocated to Durham as a teeneer, where she was educated in the Durham public schools.?? She was a beautician, having her owneeauty shop ineer home for many years. Mrs. Peeler enjoyed gardening and farming her own grapes and pecans, from which she made her own wine, and baked pecan pies.?? She was also a very talented artist, she loved to paint pictures of her flowers from her garden.?? She married Cherry Lougee when she was ineer 20???s, who preceded her ineeath.?? She theneet and married the late J. Lee Peeler. Mrs. Peeler is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and her stepchildren, Claudia and Jonathan. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00pm at Maplewood Cemetery.?? Officiating will be Rev. Carl Harris.
