Gouri Dutta

Durham, NC - Gouri Dutta, age 79, passed away on Sunday, December 17th, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in India on September 8th, 1944, to her mother, Subarnaprabha Sengupta and her father Jogesh Chandra Sengupta

Gouri was a very independent soul, who was loved by many. Gouri worked as a Librarian at North Carolina Central University, and obtained her master’s degree in Information and Library Science

Gouri is survived by her daughter Joyati Lockley (Barrett), one grandson, Travis Lockley, and her faithful companion, Ginger.

Gouri was preceded in death by her husband Jyotsna Moy Dutta (2009.)

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 at 2:00pm in the Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel with a visitation held one hour prior to the start of the service (1:00pm)

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation or Peak Lab Rescue of Apex, NC.
