Oxford Gwendolyn C. Adcock, age 75, died on June 15, 2019. ??The daughter of the late James Earl Knott and Mary Elizabeth Brooks Knott, she was born in Granville County on April 8, 1944. After graduation, Gweneent to work for the Tobacco Research Station and retired there after 30 years.?? Gwen raised 2 sons and was an active member of the Granville County School Board and owner and operator of Adcock???s Machine and Welding ??ineerea.???? After retirement from the Research Station, Gwen enjoyed running the shop and preparing tax documents for friends and family.?? She loved her family aneenjoyed them immensely. Gwen is survived by her sons, Kenneth R. Cox (Patsy) and David A. Adcock (Cindy); her brother, James ???Butch??? Knott (Pat); her sister, Deborah K. Seate (Alvin); her granddaughter, Emily Adcock and her nieces, Tanya S. and Michael Weary and their children, Trevor, Ronan and Alex; Tina S. and Sheldon Eneebright and their childreneethan and Savannah; and Regina Knott and her children, Danyel and Kimberly and her nephew, Christopher J. Knott.???? She will be greatly missed by many loving family and friends. Gwen is predeceased by her parents, her first husband of 8 years, Roy Lee Cox and her second husband of 39 years, O. Allen Adcock. Visitation to be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with a service officiated by Rev. Tim Atkinson and Rev.?? William Wheeler to follow at 3:00 pm and burial in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery. Flowers are acceptable and greatly appreciated, or memorials may be made to St. Judes Hospital, the Granville County Shrine Club or to Mt.
