Hala Husn

Hala Chaaban Husn, age 67, peacefully passed in Durham on Monday, February 5, 2024. Born on July 20, 1956 in Choueifat, Lebanon to the late Izzat and Hekmat Chaaban. Wife of Nabil M. Husn; loving mother of Jason (Kelly) Husn and Justin (Megan) Husn; proud grandmother of Leila, Nora, Sophia, Eliana, and Carter Husn. Sister of Rabih Chaaban (Sharon) of Troutman, Randa El-Kadi (Adib) of Choueifat, Lebanon, Talih (Sawsan) of Choueifat, Lebanon, Mansour (Rana) of Mooresville, and Rabiha (Bahjat) Mahmoud of Khalde, Lebanon. Also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Hala was a devoted employee of Duke working in Alzheimer’s research for over 30 years. Hala will be remembered for her deep love for her family, friends and her home in Lebanon. 

The family will hold a private viewing followed by an open celebration of life. The celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 1-3pm at Umstead Pines at Willowhaven: 253 Country Club Drive, Durham, NC 27712.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her honor to the Colon Cancer Foundation or Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon
