Harold L. Sherman

OXFORD Harold L. Sherman, age 82, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC. A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late C. R. Sherman and Mildred Day Sherman. He was owner and operator of Morton & Sherman Implement Co., a member of Delrayno Baptist Church and a US Army veteran. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM from Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, February 24. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Oxford, NC. Mr. Sherman is survived by one sister, Gwen S. Critcher of Oxford; one brother, Horace Sherman of Kittrell, NC and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded ineeath by his wife, Helen Jones Sherman. Serving as active pallbearers are Leonard Pruitt, Oliver Cash, Bobby Blackwell, Chaneer Currin, Sr., James Henry Critcher, Sherby Slaughter, Jimmy Dixon and Donee Eneebright. Honorary pallbearers are employees of Morton and Sherman Implement Co. Visitation for the family will be from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Gene Jones Finch, 601 College Street, Oxford, NC.
