Iris W. Ripley

Iris W. Ripley, age 94, died peacefully the morning oneecember 28, 2018, at UNC Hillsborough Hospital on the Geriatric Ward.???? She was born oneeptember 10, 1924, in Chatham County to the late Carney Eusebius Williams and Nellie Blake Williams. She was a resident of Durham for more than fifty years and was a cherished member of Yates Baptist Church.?? She served in many capacities within the church and is remembered fondly by everyone there. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Proctor.?? Her granddaughter Kimberly Proctor-Kings, husband Justin, and grandson Landon.?? Her son, Keith Ripley, his wife, Janee, his daughter, Christy, and granddaughters Chelsea aneemma. Her sister, Nancy McCoy.?? She was preceded ineeath by her husband, Ralph W. Ripley. Visitation will be held at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, Durham, NC at 11 am, Monday, December 31, 2018, with funeral service to follow at 12.?? Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the memory of Iris W. Ripley to The Duke Cancer Institute to support The Duke Cancer Fund or to support research for a specific disease.??
