Irma Lee Hart

Irma Lee Hart, 97, of Oxford, NC died Saturday, December 28, 2019.?? She was born in Granville County on August 23, 1922 to Joseph Spencer Hart and Lula Beasley Hart. Irma was a great woman who knew and understood just how to build a strong and supportive home.?? She believed in God, family, and hard work. ??Whether she was tirelessly working on the farm, sewing, or preparing meals for the family, she was always serving God by serving and caring for others.?? Above all, she loved her family and took such joy in them. Irma is survived by her daughter, Joy Blackwell (Eugene); son Ricky Hart (Peggy); 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.?? She is also survived by her brother, Elvin Hart (Nell); sister, Gladys Godsey; neerous nieces and nephews; and many more extended family members and friends. Irma is predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Stephen Hart; son, Steve Hart; daughter, Ann Culbreth; and siblings, Irene Gresham, Edna Godsey, Calvin Hart, and Graham Hart. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Mountain Creek Baptist Church, 2187 Mountain Creek Rd., Oxford, NC.?? Rev. Norman Talley and Rev. Carroll Glasscock will preside.?? Burial will follow in the church cemetery. ??The family will receive guests on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home, 503 College St., Oxford, NC and at other times at the home.
