Isaac Ike Garrard

Isaac "Ike" M. Garrard died Thursday, December 16th , at Duke Medical Center of complications from surgery. Ike was born on April 18, 1948 to Joseph W. Garrard and the late Minee G. Garrard. Ike attended Northern High School aneexcelled in sports, especially football and basketball. He graduated from N.C. State Uneersity with a degree in Engineering. Ike worked in the family business, Garrard's Sausage Company, and helped expand regional distribution where he achieved significant growth. Ike is survived by his daughter, Jenneer Hall and husband, Ben; his son, Joseph Garrard III and wife, Nicole; his father, Joseph W. Garrard; two granddaughters, Neah and Cailyn Garrard. He is also survived by his devoted friend and companion, Jenee Thomas; two sisters, Marie Kolodij and husband, Roman; Luanne Holland and husband, Jimmie; and nieces, Lauren Kolodij and Rachel Holland and a nephew, Dillon Holland. A funeral ceremony will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 21, from Grey Stone Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Malbert Smith and Rev. Kevin Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham.
