James Franklin "Frank" Daniel

OXFORD: Mr. James Franklin "Frank" Daniel, 81, formally of Tar River Road, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at Carolina House in Durham. A native of Granville County, Frank was the son of the late Ernest Cleveland and Jenee Thaxton Daniel. He was a lifetime member of Corinth Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Daniel was a graduate of The Governor Morehead School for the Blind-Class of 1948. He was the owner and operator of Frank Daniel's Grocery for 53 years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. oneednesday, May 12, 2010 at Corinth Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Fred Williams and Rev. Neil Woodlief. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Nina Johnson Daniel; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, S. T. Daniel and sister, Foye Daniel Petty. The family will receive friends in the Corinth Fellowship Hall following the service.
