James Edward Hester

James Edward Hester, known to friends and family as Jimmy, or Jim, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024 at the Hospice House in Greenville, N. C. Jim was born on May 23, 1943 in Granville County, N. C. to the late Charlie Landis Hester and Hortense King Hester. He spent most of his adult life living and working in Charlotte, N. C. The majority of that time he worked in Sales with the Canon Corporation. He loved traveling and meeting new people through his work.

Jim is survived by his sisters, Linda Hester Currin (Austin) and Loretta Hester Mills (Ron), a niece, Stacy Currin Michaelsen (Brian), a nephew, A. P. Currin, III (Keri), and six great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Landis Hester, Jr., and a sister, Carol Ann Hester. 

Jim enjoyed traveling, playing golf, meeting new people and keeping up with old friends .He was a thoughtful, caring person and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

 A funeral will be held on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at Enon Baptist Church, 2298 Enon Road, Oxford N. C., 27565 at 11:00 A. M.
