James Lanier Robbins

James Lanier Robbins???proud Southerner, lifelong fan of the Uneersity of Louisville Cardinals, and all-around geneeman???passed away peacefully, with his wife Renee by his side, on Tuesday, October 7, just two days shy of his 86th birthday. James???known as Jim???is survived by his wife, Reni, his two children, Scott and Jenneer, and two grandchildren, Theo and Fiona. Jim was born on Oct. 9, 1928, in Mississippi and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where he enjoyed riding horses, drawing cartoons, and spending time with his favorite cousins, Jeri and Pat (both of whom predeceased him). He attended Kentucky Military Institute aneearned a BA in Business from the Uneersity of Louisville, where he developed his fiery devotion to the Cardinals. Jim also honorably served in the Uneed States Marine Corps, where he was among the first regiments to fight in Korea. Once he returned, Jim moved to New York City, where he met Reni aneearned his MBA at New York Uneersity. He enjoyed an illustrious career in international finance and traveled widely???living in Japan, France, Germany, and Switzerland, before settling in Madison, New Jersey, with his wife to raise his two children. In 1993, Jim and Reni retired to North Carolina, living in Durham and then Apex, where they made many friends aneenjoyed the charms of the Trianee area. Jim was always known as a consummate geneeman and instilled the values of honesty and hard work in his children. He is dearly missed by family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate Jim???s life will be held at Trianee Presbytarian Church on Saturday, October 11, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Americaneeart Association (https://donee.heart.org), the Disabled Americaneeterans (http://www.dav.org), or Trianee Presbytarian Church (http://www.trianeepc.org) in Jim???s nee.
