James Pratt Winston , Ii

Mr. James “Jimmy” Pratt Winston, II, age 69, of Oxford, NC died peacefully on March 22, 2023. He was born in Granville County on September 26, 1953, to James Pratt Winston (JoAn) and the late Gwendolyn Blackwell Winston.

Jimmy, a pillar of the community, was a retired founding C.P.A. partner with Winston, Williams, Creech, and Evans, CPA in Oxford, NC. Jimmy graduated from J.F. Webb High School, attended East Carolina University, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Campbell University. While at ECU, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. Jimmy enjoyed golf with friends, watching NC State sports, the beach, sailing, and cruises around the world.

He is survived by his wife Anne Thorp Winston, his father, James Pratt Winston, one daughter, Kathryn Winston Gibson (Garrett), one son, Robert Pratt Winston (Rebecca), and 7 grandchildren, Robert Winston II, Bridges Winston, Emma Gibson, Gwendolyn Gibson, Asher Gibson, Aleea Winston, Marianna Winston, two brothers, John L. Winston (Anna) and Francis A. Winston (Tammy), and one sister, Kathryn C. Winston (John Richardson).

Friends and Family are invited to A Celebration of Life held at the residence of Pratt Winston, 9242 Dave Winston Rd., Bullock, NC 27507 on April 15th, 2023, at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions or donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or the PAN Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease.
