James T. Lumpkin, Jr.

Mr. James Lumpkin, age 78, of Oxford, NC died peacefully on February 27, 2023, at Hock Pavilion. He was born in Granville County on August 23, 1944, to his late parents, James Thomas Lumpkin and Mittie Bell Newton Lumpkin.

J.T. is survived by his loving wife, Tommie Pittard Lumpkin; his son, Chris Lumpkin (Sara); his daughter, Jeanne Arendall and grandchildren, Ron Cole Lumpkin, Scott Allen Dry (Amanda) and Jason Avalos Lumpkin (Kelly). He is also survived by his aunt, Adell Todd; his niece, Wanda Richardson (Gill) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to name.

J.T. is predeceased by his parents, and his grandsons, Matthew Thomas Lumpkin and Tony Allen Dry.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Meadowview Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in J.T.’s memory to ACIM (Area Congregation in Ministry), 634 Roxboro Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
