Janet H. Barlowe

Oxford: Janet H. Barlowe, 79, of Oxford, dies Wednesday July 9, 2014 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC. A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Hicks and Mabel Hicks Halstead. The widow of Felix Russell Barlowe, she was a retired employee of the Oxford Crdit Union, and she was a member of Hester Baptist Church. Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Sunday July 13, 2014 in Hester Baptist Church by the Rev. Alex Gallimore. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. Surviving are her daughters, Felicia B. Howie of Monroe and Holly B. Rabinovich of Hillsborough, step-son, Russell G. Barlowe of Caswell Beach, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her brother Buck Hicks of Franklin VA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hester Baptist Church, P.O. Box 964 Oxford, NC 27565.
