Jean Francine Chaneer

Chapel Hill ??? Ms. Jean Francine Chaneer, 61, of Chapel Hill, died August 29, 2017. Ms. Chaneer was born in Lynn, MA to N. Francine Chaneer and the late Douglas E. Chaneer. She was educated in the Lynn public schools. Jeaneelocated to Chapel Hill in the early 1980???s, where she was employed as an Administrative Assistant at the Uneersity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her employment started in the Department of Dentistry, and throughout her career worked ineeveral departments. Jean enjoyed many people she worked with and met throughout her career at UNC. She had a very warm and happy friendship with Christine and Don Lysle for over 25 years and loved watching their daughter, Kara, grow up. She also had wonderful and caring friendships with Christopher Meinecke and Karen Thompson. She doted oneer dog, Kuma for 18 years and was active with local animal rescue organizations. Ms. Chaneer is survived by her mother, N. Francine Chaneer of Lynn, MA; sister Betty Ann Chaneer of Sandwich, MA; brothers, David B Chaneer of Westford, MA; Ernest F Chaneer and his partner, Lorna J Coscia, of Wakefield, MA; Paul D Chaneer and his wife, Dr. Fran Rancourt, of Center Conway, NH; ten nieces and nephews; two grand nieces and nephews; and her close friends, Christine, Kara and Don Lysle, Christopher Meinecke, and Karen Thompson. Jean???s family would like to thank Christine, Don, Kara, Christopher, Karen and all the medical, clergy and staff involved, for all their loving support and care of Jean during her illness. A memorial service will be conducted at a time to be announced in Lynn, MA.
