OXFORD: Jean Roller Slaughter, age 60 of 106 Meadow Heights, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Oxford, Jean was the daughter of Sallie Blalock Roller and the late Bill Roller. She was a retired employee of the Granville County Clerk of Courts office, a graduate of Louisburg College and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was actively involved ineelay for Life. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 14 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Surviving is a daughter, Lori Janel Slaughter of Matthews, NC; a son, Matthew Todd Slaughter of Oxford and her mother, Salle B. Roller of Oxford. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Relay for Life Team, 1171 Hwy. 158 W, Oxford, NC 27565. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall at Mt.
