Jerry Thomas Newcomb

OXFORD: Jerry Thomas Newcomb, age 71, died Friday, June 5, 2009 at his home in Kittrell. Mr. Newcomb was born in Granville County on March 8, 1938 and was the son of the late Wiley Fleming Newcomb and Mary Humphries Newcomb. He was a member of Gray Rock Uneed Methodist Church and a retired farmer and mechanic. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dan Hill. Burial will follow at Peace's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Linda Watkins Newcomb; a son, Kevineewcomb of Kittrell; daughters, Lynn Parham and Kim Beck of Kittrell and Cynthia Magnum of Franklinton; two brothers, Bob Newcomb of Oxford and Lewis Newcomb of Durham; one sister, Alice Land of Oxford and nee grandchildren. He is preceded ineeath by brothers Wiley Newcomb aneed Newcomb and a sister Florence Farmer. Visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. on Monday, June 8 prior to the service at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home.
