Joanee-Lan Li-Huang (?????????, age 78, with her son Samuel by her side, passed away peacefully in Durham, NC on Friday, October 30, 2015. Mrs. Huang was born in Shandong Province, China on March 29th, 1937 to Mr. and Mrs. Hua-De Li (?????????). Because of the Chinee Civil War, Mrs. Huang relocated with her family to Taipei, Taiwan in 1950. Mrs. Huaneexcelled ineer educational endeavors. She graduated from Taipei First Girl High School (?????????) in 1956 and graduated from the prestigious Taiwan National Uneersity (????????????) in 1960 with a degree in Pre-Law. In 1962, Mrs. Huang immigrated to the Uneed States. In 1965, Mrs. Huang married Mr. Yung Huang, her college sweetheart ineew York City. In 1966, the couple relocated to Amherst, Massachusetts while Mr. Huang worked toward his graduate degree at the Uneersity of Massachusetts at Amherst. The couple with their young family theneettled in Albany, NY. After owning a gift shop in Schenectady, NY in the late 1970???s, Mrs. Huang then studied accounting at Siena College aneeventually retired as a revenue agent with the Internal Revenue Service in 1997. Mrs. Huang is remembered by her friends as a kind, gregarious and generous person who was always willing to assist those who are ineeed. She was well loved by her friends and family. Mrs. Huang is survived by her loving husband Yung Huang of Chapel Hill, NC; her two sons, Mark Huang and wife, Lutsiya, of Providence, RI; Dr. Samuel Huang and wife, Dr. Anh Tran, of Chapel Hill; her nephew who she also raised, Richard Wang and wife Tina of Brooklyn, NY; her grandchildren, Samuel and Sasha Huang; Jordan and Dylan Huang; aneemily and Ryan Wang. A Catholic Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Friday, neember, 6, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham with Fr. Joseph Yang presiding. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions canee made to Maryknoll Sisters of NY. Funeral Arrangements for the Huang family are under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service at 1113 West Main Street, Durham, NC 27701.
