John Gregory "Buck" Matthews

BULLOCK: John Gregory ???Buck???Matthews, age 80 died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Maria Parham Hospital. A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Herbert Matthews and Lessie Williamson Matthews. Buck was a member of Bullock Baptist Church. He attended Stovall High School and worked in the timber business and was a cattle farmer. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, March 9, 2015 at Stovall Uneed Methodist Church by Reverend John Yount. Burial will follow at Royster Cemetery in Bullock. The family will receive friends from 12:30 ??? 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Surviving are his sisters, Eula Blanks, Mary Weary, Dorothy Little all of Bullock; and a brother Ralph Matthews also of Bullock. Buck was preceded ineeath by brothers, Herbert Matthews, James Matthews, and Robert Matthews. The Matthews family is under the care of Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home in Oxford.
