John Jack Willard Godkin, Sr.

John W. "Jack" Godkin, Sr.; 69, died Saturday, July 5, 2014. Jack was born May 6, 1945 ineethlehem, Pennsylvania to the late Willard Joseph aneellen Kotz Godkin. He retired in 1996, after 25 years, from Coty division of Pfizer Inc. Jack was an avid traveler, scuba diver, snow skier, a connoisseur of coffee, and master of "The Wine and Cheese" Surviving are: his wife of 6 years, Elizabeth "Liz" Sheely Godkin of Durham; two sons, John W. Godkin Jr. and wife, Susan of Durham, Jeffrey M. Godkin and wife, Christy of Davidson; a daughter, Jenneer G. Lewis and husband, Kermit of Sanford; six grandchildren, Sarah, Laura, William, Paul, Madeline and James; a brother, Dr. James D. Godkin and wife Donna of Tennessee; a sister, Bonee Zinck and husband, James of Virginia. The family will be present 6-8 PM Thursday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St., Durham. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Friday at Holy Infant Catholic Church, 5000 South Park Dr., Durham.
