DURHAM, NC: John Thomas Glynn, 87, a long time LaSalle resident died Sunday. A Chicago native, he was born April 9, 1922 and was one of eight children. The Glynns were LaSalle residents since 1971, moving to Durham, NC a year ago to be close to their daughter and grandchildren. Mr. Glynn spent his career in the printing business and was in sales with Valley Forms of Spring Valley until retirement. He was an active parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. Mr. Glynn was a WW II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. John Glynn was devoted to his family and his faith. For many years his special ministry was bringing communion to nursing home residents. He was also staunchly proud of his Irish heritage, his mother being an Irish immigrant. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Glynn; his children, John Glynn of Peru, IL, Julia Lewis of Nashville, Tneellen Parks of Durham, NC and Donna Cika of Nashville, TN; 2 sisters, one brother, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be offered Thursday in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment in St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery, Durham. Memorials to a favorite charity of one's choice.
