Joseph Watson Currin Jr., 70, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015. He was the son of the late Joseph Watson Currin, Sr. aneedith Daniel Currin. Mr. Currin was a former employee of Gregory-Poole, a former member of the North Carolina Army National Guard, a retired employee of CP&L- Progress Energy for forty years, a tobacco farmer, a collector and restorer of antique Johneeere tractors, and a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Mt Zion Baptist Church, Berea, NC by the Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Betty Lynne Currin; his son, Joseph Watson Currin III of Oxford; his daughters, Cynthia Louise Currin of Oxford and Carrie Currin Dostie and her husband Tysun of Fayetteville, NC; his brothers, Patrick Carlton Currin and his wife Juanita of Stem, NC and Paul Blackwell Currin and his wife Lynn of Oxford; and 4 grandchildren, Anna Leigh Currin, Lori Lynne Currin, Lillian Isobel Dostie, and Grace Olivia Dostie. Preceded ineeath by a sister, Hettie Lou Skipper, and a brother, Mark Daniel Currin. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm oneednesday in the fellowship hall of the church. Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home is serving Currin family.
