Joyce Ann Hancock, 76, died Easter Sunday following a long illness. Joyce was born in High Point on April 15, 1938 to Jewell Roosevelt Keith and Jeffie Josephine Collins Keith. Mrs. Hancock retired in 1999, after 37 years, from Duke Hospital in Durham. Joyce, along with Hank Holland, became the first people, in Duke Hospital's history, certified by the American Society of Extracorporeal Circulationeechnology as cardio-pulmonary perfusionists. She was an avid reader and bowler, and most recently enjoyed playing games oneer computer. She was preceded by her husband, Karl M. Hancock and a brother, Floyd Green. Surviving are: a son, Alan Hancock of Emerald Isle; a daughter, Pamela Moore and husband, Kenneth of Durham; two step-sons, Karl Hancock and wife, Theresa of Hillsborough, Michael Hancock and wife, Kelly of Durham; two sisters, Betty Walker and Jewel Blake, both of Durham; two grandchildren; Amber Bullard and husband, Phillip of Hillsborough, Cameron Moore of Durham; four step-grandchildren, Troy Hancock and wife, Denee of Wilmington, Pepper Pollard and husband, David of Hillsborough; Michelle Rigsbee and husband, Jonathan of Raleigh, Joshua Hancock and wife, Amanda of Durham; three great-grandchildren, Jalonah, Mason, Camyah and by many step great-grandchildren. The family will be present 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Wednesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St., Durham. Graveside services will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Durham.
