Joyce McDonald Blue, 65, of Stem, NC died Thursday, October 8, 2020. She was born on October 20, 1954 to her now predeceased parents, William Ralph and Florence Hester McDonald.
Joyce Blue was born in Granville County. She was a friend, mama and grandmother to all she crossed paths with. She was the happiest when the house was full of hungry people and she was making her homemade biscuits.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 46 years, David L. Blue, Jr.; daughter, Vicky Blue; 10 grandchildren; and sisters, Jean Evans, Patsy McDonald (Joe Owen), and Cathy Autrey (Bobby). She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. Joyce is predeceased by her parents; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Chapel in Oxford, NC. A private cremation ceremony will follow. Viewing will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home. Masks and social distancing will be required at all times.
The family requests that all guests plan to attend any service in casual dress. Preferably in jeans, as they were always Joyce’s favorite.
