Joyce Peed Blalock

Joyce Peed Blalock, 89, of Roxboro NC died Wednesday, March 14, 2024. Joyce was born in Person

County on September 30, 1934 to Willie Lee Peed and Martha Ann “Annie” Duke Peed. 

She lived most of her life in the Rougemont community of Person County where she was a member of Mt. Harmony

Baptist Church.

Joyce was a loving and faithful wife to Franklin “F.D.” Blalock for 56 years. She was devoted to her family

and loved them dearly, always placing their needs above her own. Joyce was a homemaker and a

caregiver to her parents in their later years. Joyce loved talking to friends and enjoyed leading an active life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Hazel Laws. She is survived by her

daughter, DeAnn Blalock (Ron), her son Darrin Blalock (Heather), two grandchildren, Hadley Blalock and

Devin Blalock, as well as nieces and nephews.

In lieu of a traditional funeral service, a private celebration of life was held by the family at Hall-Wynne
