Judith Currin Tingen

Judith Kathryn Currin Tingen went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 24, 2024. Born at Rex hospital to the late George and Madge Lockey Currin, she lived the rest of her 81 years in Granville County. She married W.H. Tingen, Jr on February 18, 1973. 

Judy and W.H. ran Currin-Tingen Jewelers for many years here in Oxford, NC. Judy was active in her Church, Marrow’s Chapel and in many community activities. 

She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, W.H. Tingen; her brother, David T. Currin and his wife, Louise; her sister, Melinda Currin Brooks; her niece, Caroline B. Higgs; her nephews, Neill, Perry, Matthew Currin and Dave Brooks. Judy will be missed by her great nieces and nephews, family and friends too numerous to name. 

Judy was preceded by her parents and brother-in-law, J. David Brooks. 

Judy’s service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11:00 am at Marrow’s Chapel Church, 2828 Morgan Road, Henderson, NC 27537. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held after the service in the fellowship hall with a reception. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Judy’s name may be given to Marrow’s Chapel Church.
