Julia Albright Poteat, age 76, was born in Durham, North Carolina on March 17, 1947, died peacefully at home with family on Friday, August 25, 2023. Everyone knew her as Julie, she was the daughter of the late William Umstead Albright and Elizabeth Teer Albright.
Julie was a woman of character and strength. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Julie loved going to the beach with her family. For many years Julie was an outstanding nurse. She was a bright light shining onto everyone she met. Her personality and sense of humor are what made her who she was. She loved her family like none other, and everyone loved her just as deeply. One of her favorite things to do was sit and talk to her children and grandchildren. She loved sitting peacefully with her grandchildren as they came to take naps on her couch at any time of day.
Julie is survived by her daughter, Tyler Terry (Sterling) and her son, Todd Poteat (Amy); her stepdaughter, Leslie Hawkins and her amazing grandchildren, Kristopher, Korey, Cody, Caleb, Elizabeth, Jayden, Guiliana, Sterling, Jr and Quettara and her beloved great-grandchildren, Liam and Gershiah. She leaves behind her siblings, Janice Kennedy (Jimmy) and William Albright; her cousin, Jay Mize; her brother-in-law, Steve Poteat (Ginger) and her special friends, Amy Blackwell and Amy Bowden.
