June Holder Gunter

June Holder Gunter, 95, a native of Durham, NC, died April 23, 2018. She was born on January 22, 1923, to the late John R. and Junia Sasser Holder. She attended Kings Business College, Durham Business School and completed banking courses with the American Institute of Banking. She beganeer banking career as an assistant credit maneer with Ellis Stone of Durham and then worked with Durham Bank & Trust Company and South Carolina National Bank of Greenville, SC. Mrs. Gunter was predeceased by her devoted husband of 58 years, Elbert C. (E.C.) Gunter, Jr., and her brothers J. Frank Holder, Daniel T. (Tommy) Holder, Henry (Hank) Holder, and sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Holder Delay. Surviving are her sister, Nancy Holder Miller of Durham, and many loving nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered for her smile, warmth and how much she loved her extended family. Mrs. Gunter was a long-time member of the Aldersgate Uneed Methodist Church and the Glass Sunday School Class. She was a dedicated 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Bahama Chapter, Bahama, NC. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 29, 2018, in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 ??? 1:45pm in the chapel prior to the service. Memorials may be made to your charity of choice.
